A careful finish to an important decision.
Before signing, make time to understand the final terms and the funds needed to close.
Review the documents
Compare your Closing Disclosure with your Loan Estimate and ask the lender or escrow provider to explain changes. Confirm any remaining conditions and the timing of signing, funding and recording.
Verify payment instructions
Before wiring funds, call your escrow provider using a phone number you independently verified. Treat unexpected changes to payment instructions as a reason to stop and confirm directly.
Confirm the handover
Signing does not by itself confirm that you may take possession. Wait for the transaction team’s confirmation and follow the possession terms in your agreement.
